With the holiday season fast approaching, whether you are celebrating Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Lunar New Year or other special events in this holiday season, it is useful to remind ourselves to follow all important recommendations and instructions.

Vaccination in combination with the appropriate protective measures is key to limiting the virus’s spread and reducing its ability to mutate into more dangerous variants.

Here are the 6 important ways to protect yourself and those around you during the holiday season:

1. Get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you can.

2. Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others.

3. Keep physical distancing.

4. Cover coughs and sneezes.

5. Wash your hands often with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.

6. Meet outside or increase ventilation, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.

Most importantly, if you feel sick and have any uncommon symptoms, such as fever, cough, fatigue, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhoea, don’t host or attend a gathering and go to hospital for treatment immediately! But avoid taking public transport.
